This course is intended to enable OpenStack users to assume operations knowledge of their OpenStack environment. It will teach the additional skills and knowledge needed to achieve complete management of an OpenStack environment.
Each module contains a theory session followed practical labs. In this way the student is gaining practical experience while the information is still fresh in their minds. The practical labs contain a series of core competencies for the module and students can sign off on successful completion of each to ensure they have mastered the competency. They will also be able to retain complete step-by-step documentation for later re-use. In this way we try to avoid the deer-in-the-headlights effect when a student is confronted with practical application of theory weeks or months after learning it.
The Ubuntu OpenStack High Availability Architecture class is an add on to the OpenStack Fundamentals class. During this training, we will review High Availability concepts and services. After going over the key terms and concepts, we will look at using Juju to model High Availability in an OpenStack Cloud.
You will be able to compare Stateless and Stateful services and how this impacts your strategy for High Availability. You'll examine different tools and concepts for achieving high availability. Finally, you will go over techniques for extending your cloud's High Availability to your network tenants.
The Ubuntu OpenStack Fundamentals Training programme is an intensive hands-on course that will give students the best introduction to setting up and running Ubuntu OpenStack clouds.
The training course will cover everything you need to know about Ubuntu Server in the cloud and will focus on building an Openstack environment using Ubuntu OpenStack, MAAS, and Juju.
Starting with a single standard installation of Ubuntu Server, you will be lead through the process of creating a complete cloud infrastructure with MAAS and Juju. Students will go through a complete OpenStack installation and configuration, and also learn how to use Ubuntu cloud tools to deploy workloads quickly and efficiently.
